This is the second year of the DECA chapter at Thompson High School in Alabaster (AL) City Schools.
In this episode of the Alabaster City Schools Podcast, we dive into all-things-DECA including, what exactly is DECA? What does DECA mean for students? How has Thompson High School’s DECA chapter become so successful?
Thompson’s chapter has seen immense growth this school year, growing to 130 members. This year THS DECA took twenty-three students to the state career development conference where the chapter was able to "Experience the Difference" and compete for the DECA Glass. Three teams placed first place in their category; one individual took home first place; and THS DECA also had a fourth place finisher.
The chapter will proudly field eighteen students at DECA internationals in Anaheim, California, in April 2024. Big things are ahead for Thompson’s DECA chapter!
